ZUIDZICHT HASSELT
Living on the Blue Boulevard with a breathtaking sense of space
The last phase of the project “Zuidzicht Hasselt” was completed at the end of last year. In recent years, Zuidzicht has grown into the showpiece of the new Blue Boulevard district. The architecture is open, light and relates to the water. The scale of the project seems less large due to the fragmentation of the volume and the glass design of the luxurious penthouse apartments with double-high spaces. The inner gardens open to the canal and the area behind. An alternation of buildings and open spaces serve as connecting zones and resting points.

A NEW CAMPUS FOR BS KA ZOTTEGEM
The education of the future in practice
The new campus for BS KA Zottegem was completed at the end of March. The project brings a holistic and, for our education system, particularly innovative approach. At all levels in the project, interior and exterior design have been conceived, starting from the intrinsic needs of growing children.

CITYGATE I - KUBORN ANDERLECHT
A project that benefits an entire neighborhood
CityGate I - Kuborn was completed at the end of last year and is the first step in the big CityGate program in Anderlecht. It comprises a complex and large-scale program consisting of three projects, each with its own identity. Kuborn is part of the overarching project, which aims to give a new impulse to the southwest of the Cureghem district in Anderlecht. The 118 homes with a commercial plinth are divided over three buildings around an inner garden. The eye-catcher is a modest 12-storey tower. The emphasis is on sustainable and ecological construction. Not only the orientation of the living spaces is important, but also the liveliness of the inner block and the relationship with the future neighborhood.

THE WAVES IN OSTEND
Living on the waves of Ostend
The end of the first construction phase 'Sea' of the project The Waves in Ostend is approaching. Four organic building volumes that meander along Troonstraat in Ostend, will be built on the site. The 118 apartments will be completed before the summer.

LEOPOLDSKAZERNE GENT
Closed barracks becomes open provincial hall and new city centre
The Leopold Barracks in Ghent may transform into an open and green site. The closed military barracks will partly be a new workplace for the Province. This ambitious development of 82 high-quality apartments and ten homes around a green courtyard has now really started. This green inner garden visually reaches out to the Citadel Park. The dismantling works on the new residential part are in full swing.

BRUCITY BRUSSELS
A new administrative center for the City of Brussels
In the center of Brussels, builders are working hard on Brucity, the new administrative center for the City of Brussels. Brucity is built entirely in glass. Maximum incidence of light is crucial in an urban environment, with many surrounding buildings. The glass shell also symbolizes the pursuit of openness and transparency in the functioning of the Brussels city administration. The project covers 37,000 m² and provides space for 1500 employees. Construction started in the spring of 2019 and will be completed at the end of 2021.

NEW GO! STrEaM CAMPUS GROOT SCHIJN IN DEURNE
Fascinating path that leads to a new place where every child can prepare for his future
B2Ai architects won the competition for the new GO! STrEaM campus Groot Schijn in Deurne. The project brings 2 schools together in 1 new building, and also includes the renovation of the existing main building on the site. The Trampoline primary school combines a sense of collectivity with the need for safety and security on a child's scale. The Spectrum secondary school combines an efficient, well thought-out layout with urban spaciousness. This design is a milestone in an exciting journey that leads to a new place where every child, from toddler to teenager, can prepare for their future. Four green play areas have been devised around the buildings. In this way, the innovative project nestles perfectly in the new Park Groot Schijn.

DEJEUNER SUR L'HERBE IN JETTE
Mixed project in the heart of Jette
Construction of the new residential project 'Déjeuner sur l'herbe' in Jette will start soon. The project consists of 3 new volumes that are arranged around a communal courtyard. In addition to a communal multipurpose room, there is also a place for an office space and retail.

NEW PRIMARY SCHOOL KLIM OP IN ZANDBERGEN
Link between the school, the town and society
Within a Design & Build procedure, B2Ai architects was officially appointed as the preferred bidder for the new primary school GO! Klim Op in Zandbergen. This project aspires to be more than infrastructure, but forms a link between the school, the town and society. The creation of a motivating and inspiring learning landscape full of movement ensures the intellectual development of every child.

REAL ESTATE DEBATE: LIVING, WORKING AND INVESTING IN 2021
At the end of March, our CEO Pieterjan Vermoortel took part in the major online real estate debate. Together with three other experts, Philippe Huyzentruyt (Group Huyzentruyt), Roel Druyts (Hillewaere Vastgoed) and Peter Vanmaldeghem (Realis Immo nv), he examined the current real estate and investment market.
