Coastal apartment S De Haan

When the S family saw the ground floor apartment on the sea dike for sale last year, they were immediately enchanted by its beautifully situated location. The apartment was in the possession of its previous owner for more than fifty years and the nostalgic-looking interior was in need of some updating, which was thoroughly taken in hand immediately.

A maximum of space was created during the thorough renovation. The apartment was completely stripped. The wall between the kitchenette and the living area came out and the passage between the living area and the entrance hall was opened up. The feeling of limited space gave way to a harmonious floor plan, where the living area, kitchen and hall form a beautiful whole. Combined with the immediate view of the coast, this creates a sense of freedom and openness. There is plenty of storage space, thanks to the wall units that run the entire length of the living area and entrance hall and which also houses a handy lockable desk.

The range of colours in beige tones enhances the sense of space and strengthens its relationship to the environment. B2Ai drew made-to-measure furniture in oak and veneer and applied a soft sand colour to the walls. The marble structure of the kitchen block nicely refers to the motion of the sea waves just beyond it. A number of successful and lively accents betray the owner’s temperament, for example the golden back wall of the kitchen – laminated golden glass – is a bold accent, and the lamps in smoky glass and copper. In addition to the lounge, the apartment contains an open kitchen/dining room, 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. It can accommodate ten people using fold-out beds.
