On the site of the well-known leisure- and trainingplace ‘de Nieuwe Ceder’ in Astene (Deinze) new buildings were inaugurated recently. B2Ai is incredibly proud to have designed this inclusive care- and leisureproject. In the masterplan a diverse program is implemented, of which recently 2 zones were realised. On the one hand we have 33 units for assisted living divided over 2 new buildings in Park Oase. On the other hand 86 residentials units for people with an acquired brain injury, divided over 4 new buildings. These consist of 2 types of units: ‘the studio’, where independent living is facilitated and ‘the room’, where the emphasis is on group living. In addition to social tourism, ‘de Nieuwe Ceder’ focuses on ‘holiday with care’: anyone in need of care or rehabilitation can combine a holiday with a custom made program of activities.
The project is a textbook example of how small-scale living can be implemented in a contemporary care concept. This project was realised in a Design&Build constellation with Ibens Bouw en Ontwikkeling as contractor en B2AI as architect and interior designer.
