B2Ai and Norse star architects reshape the railway station area of Roeselare

B2Ai and the Norwegian Snøhetta will give the station environment of Roeselare a completely new appearance. That plan was given the green light by the city council of Roeselare. The design was discussed with the neighborhood several times, in order to fully address the concerns. It now got an official go.

Snøhetta and B2Ai have been working together for some time on the development of the station area, which is part of a masterplan by BUUR and Bas Smets. Snøhetta’s architects became world famous with the memorial of Ground Zero in New York and the opera in Oslo, and recently made headlines with the first underwater restaurant. So now the Roeselare station environment, in collaboration with B2Ai, is being added to their portfolio. Roelevard, as the new project is called, will have an impact on the entire region.

The design was commissioned by ION and Steenoven, the developers of Roelevard. The works will start in 2020.
