In order to create more space for its MINI and BMW Premium Selection, BMW Dejonckheere had a new building erected opposite the existing showroom. The terrain is fairly characteristic because of its elongated building plot of 170 by 30 meters.
Three functions are combined in the building a showroom for the BMW Premium Selection, one for MINI, and a workshop for bodywork. All functions, with the exception of the MINI tower, are clamped between a concrete base and a concrete roof panel and spread over the entire length of the plot. This gives the project’s design a very open feel and structure. Both the concrete base and the roof panel are used as functional parking areas for cars. The MINI showroom is located on the first and second floor, in a transparent black tower. The tower immediately serves as an accent in height within the elongated building. The combination of the horizontality of the pedestal and the verticality of the tower creates an attractive volume, which is in proportion to the imposing presence of the adjacent fruit and vegetable auction’s buildings.
